About the position

The Demand Planner for Outdoor Performance at Revelyst is responsible for estimating future demand for products and analyzing inventory flow to create effective forecasting models. This role is crucial in ensuring that the company can meet consumer demand efficiently while supporting the overall business strategy focused on consumer-first initiatives and power brand leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize software to generate statistical unit demand forecasting for forecast group/sku level.
  • Collaborate input from internal consensus participants (product/trade-marketing/sales).
  • Manage sku level forecasting by forecast group-location.
  • Utilize software to establish inventory policies for assigned sku's.
  • Achieve on-hand inventory goals through parameter settings and push/pull of inventory replenishment.
  • Contribute to the performance of outdoor sales and operations planning (S&OP) process.
  • Manage product life cycle from beginning of life to end of life planning.
  • Plan exit strategies and transition plans for excess inventory.
  • Analyze and consolidate large volumes of data (shipments, point of sales, inventory, market share, promotional activity) and communicate findings to management.
  • Facilitate monthly inventory/replenishment reviews with buying staff to communicate trends and assumptions.
  • Facilitate monthly/seasonal review of inventory policy and goals with Buying/Sourcing/Finance.
  • Develop and maintain weekly sku level demand signals for new, active, discontinued products.
  • Identify key opportunities and obstacles in the forecasting process and assist in continuous improvement.
  • Support long-range factory capacity planning processes by maintaining unit forecasts for 12-18 future months.
  • Responsible for End-of-Life sku planning and communication to liquidate and achieve budget targets.
  • Collaborate with Key Customers and Field Sales to gain outside market data.
  • Build and communicate reporting on inventory stock position issues, KPI tracking, and new product launch/end of season.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Demand Planner or a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
