About the position

The Demand Planner at Krispy Kreme plays a crucial role in supporting the Demand Planning process by developing processes, tools, and reports to enhance the supply chain's strategic initiatives. This position focuses on generating accurate demand forecasts to drive supply chain and financial planning activities, ultimately aiming to improve sales, customer service, and inventory management while minimizing waste.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation over a rolling 12-18 month planning horizon.
  • Use historical shipment trends, consumption trends, customer inventory data, and demand assumptions to develop and refine the demand forecast.
  • Lead cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances or exceptions and refine the forecast model.
  • Utilize a collaborative approach by working with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure accurate information for demand forecasts.
  • Develop, modify, and communicate the short- and long-range demand plan to Supply Planning.
  • Track Forecast KPIs including bias, accuracy, and forecast value add to drive improvements.
  • Lead monthly S&OP process for assigned brands, maintaining baseline forecasts and collecting Sales and Marketing forecast drivers.
  • Coordinate all aspects of Demand Planning related to projects supporting growth objectives and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Generate new product forecasts using historical substitution and scenario planning techniques.
  • Monitor NPD weekly in the first 13 weeks and highlight any variance from forecasts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in sales, marketing, demand planning, supply planning, or merchandise retail planning, preferably in a CPG or food industry environment.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, including trends in sales and costing.
  • Ability to derive messaging based on data.
  • Information systems background highly desirable.
  • High proficiency in Oracle Demand Planning and/or Oracle Analytics or similar database applications.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, or similar software.
  • Strong analytical and interpretative skills to provide insights into consumption trends.
  • Excellent working knowledge of syndicated data sources and POS level data.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.

  • Experience with data manipulation software such as Cognos.
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
