About the position

The Demand Planner at Zeon Chemicals is responsible for managing the demand and replenishment of designated product lines to ensure optimal inventory levels. This role involves driving cross-functional engagement throughout the planning process to meet company goals and enhance customer satisfaction. The position is hybrid, based in Louisville, KY, and requires collaboration with various departments to maintain the accuracy and utility of the MRP system.

Responsibilities

  • Manage finished goods inventory replenishment using SAP-based MRP system.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Warehousing, and Sales & Marketing to maintain MRP system accuracy.
  • Maintain Material Master data in SAP.
  • Participate in the New Product Introduction process.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental project meetings to educate on MRP capabilities and best practices.
  • Conduct gap analysis and develop actionable project plans.
  • Ensure documentation supports long-term sustainability of MRP processes.
  • Ensure inventory availability at multiple warehouses to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
  • Control distribution of inventory per management directives.
  • Coordinate with Business Managers and Purchasing to establish production schedules.
  • Maintain demand expectations based on historical sales and market intelligence.
  • Lead weekly production planning meetings with the Kentucky plant and stakeholders.
  • Align with Business Managers and sales team on sales forecasting and inventory balancing.
  • Utilize Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
  • Promote process consolidation into SAP and provide internal support.
  • Maintain knowledge of JSOX processes and contribute to compliance efforts.
  • Act as a change agent for continuous improvement in operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, or purchasing.
  • Intermediate/advanced proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, particularly in Materials Management (MM) and/or Sales & Distribution (SD) modules.
  • Working familiarity with Material Resource Planning (MRP).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for ad-hoc analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or APICS certification is desirable.
  • Experience in a chemical or specialty material company preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire for frequent in-person interaction.
  • Self-starter with high motivation and presentation skills.
