About the position

The Demand Planning role at Owens & Minor is crucial for executing the Product & Healthcare Services (P&HS) Demand Planning processes and fostering customer collaboration. This position involves working closely with various cross-functional teams to generate accurate demand plans, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve cash flow by minimizing inventory excess. The individual contributor will drive business decisions, inform forecasting, and support new product launches, ultimately aiming to improve forecast accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand planning models and tools to improve forecast accuracy and reliability in North America.
  • Support Planning System Master Data maintenance, including parameter tuning and demand forecasting unit creation.
  • Monitor and audit automated Market Insight to capture sales and marketing opportunities accurately.
  • Utilize historical sales data and market trends to forecast customer demand for products.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align on demand forecasts.
  • Support the New Customer Onboarding Process and manage customer exits.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy and forecast bias for improvement.
  • Lead and support sustainable process improvement using Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in the demand planning process and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve demand planning processes and methodologies.
  • Support Next Gen Digital Supply Chain projects with user acceptance testing and business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field.
  • 7 or more years in Demand Planning, preferably in Medical Products.
  • Strong presentation skills, including verbal, written, and electronic communication.
  • Extensive experience in Demand Planning systems, with SAP IBP preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in statistical forecasting.
  • Ability to manipulate large datasets and perform complex calculations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in creating a multi-functional environment for demand planning.
