About the position

The Demand Planner at RahrBSG is responsible for creating and executing the organizational Demand Plan, coordinating with the Supply Planning team to manage forecasted supply, and balancing inventory levels. This role is crucial in implementing strategies to minimize out-of-stocks and improve customer fulfillment, while also communicating capacity concerns to logistics and operations teams. The position is hybrid, based in either Minneapolis, Minnesota, or Denver, Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Create the monthly Demand Plan for assigned division and product groups.
  • Maintain product history, accurate forecasting, and promotional demand.
  • Support leadership in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for timely execution.
  • Identify key sales indicators for specific products to guide the sales department.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Reconcile forecast error and communicate impacts to appropriate teams.
  • Develop forecasting models with the support of forecasting software.
  • Monitor trending sales and manage exceptions related to sales fluctuations.
  • Request, input, and analyze customer forecasts, maintaining communication with sales.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning to identify out of stock or excess inventory and determine root causes.
  • Create Capacity Reports to communicate future constraints to relevant teams.
  • Propose solutions to improve processes and demand forecast accuracy.
  • Support leadership with risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Document processes and develop/maintain SOPs and work instructions.
  • Stay updated on new technology and best practices for data analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in a Planning role (Production, Supply, or Demand).
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly in analysis and data modeling.
  • Prior experience with Avercast or similar forecasting software.
  • Prior experience with MRP and/or ERP systems preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge.
