About the position

The Demand Planner position at Curacao is responsible for all forecasting activities related to customers and products within a specific category. The role involves creating and maintaining forecast models, utilizing business intelligence, and collaborating with various departments to ensure optimal inventory management and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product Managers to develop buying plans that support overall strategy of in-stock positioning for key merchandise categories, classifications, items and vendors
• Oversee planning and positioning of inventories to maximize customer service while minimizing inventory carrying costs
• Recommend revisions to the buying plan based on sound analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Establish collaborative relationships with Visual Merchandisers to ensure availability and the timely delivery of product to stores
• Have a thorough knowledge of purchasing and inventory management, while understanding the cash flow implications of purchasing
• Prepare merchandise reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing inventory and sales information and trends
• Utilize reports to measure vendor profitability and product sell through in order to optimize vendor selection and increase profits

Requirements

• 4 year college degree (Business, engineering or related field)
• Minimum 4 years of demand planning, procurement, supply chain or related experience
• Knowledge of demand planning and forecasting tools
• Experience using enterprise statistical software packages
• Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities
• Knowledge of inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contributions, etc.
• Ability to lead cross-functionally
• Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in inventory
• Experience in managing end of lifecycle and obsolete inventory
• Demonstrated attention to detail
