About the position

The Demand Planner at GAF plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's supply chain efficiency through effective demand forecasting and planning. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to meet business objectives while collaborating with various departments to ensure alignment with financial goals. The Demand Planner will also focus on improving inventory management and customer collaboration to drive overall service level improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and education for all demand planning activities across the GAF Commercial business.
  • Develop and communicate the future vision of Demand Planning within GAF Commercial.
  • Ensure Demand Planning aligns with GAF's overall aspiration of End to End planning.
  • Develop, implement, and publish forecasts for all Commercial products and businesses.
  • Analyze market data and sales pipeline information to drive a consensus demand plan.
  • Develop and implement demand forecasting models, methods, and tools.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to improve future demand expectations.
  • Track, monitor, and update the forecast based on actual volumes and market intelligence.
  • Implement and share metrics in forecast accuracy and inventory management.
  • Facilitate forecast review meetings for all products and business segments.
  • Act as the key Supply Chain liaison with the FP&A team to validate planning and forecasting activities.
  • Contribute to long-term demand projections for GAF Commercial.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to understand key drivers impacting industry projections.
  • Be the primary contact for demand assumptions related to strategic initiatives.
  • Drive enhanced customer collaboration within end-to-end planning.

Requirements

  • A BA/BS/BE degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Finance, or Business.
  • 5+ years of related experience in Supply Chain/Logistics, Demand Planning, Analytics, or a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Building materials experience is preferred.
  • SAP and SAP IBP experience is desirable.
