About the position

Empire Today is seeking a Demand Planner to enhance their team, focusing on developing sales forecasts at the SKU/DC level, improving forecast accuracy, optimizing inventory positions, and driving process improvements. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective demand planning and inventory management, contributing to the company's growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review historical sales trends and research demand drivers to prepare forecast data.
• Develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results for accuracy.
• Collaborate with Category Managers on product trend performance and phase in/out strategies.
• Manage inventory performance metrics including in-stock levels, turns, and forecast accuracy.
• Initiate and drive process and system improvements for forecasting efficiency.
• Develop, monitor, and communicate reports on forecast accuracy and inventory.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in Demand and Inventory Planning.
• Experience with demand planning software such as SAP, Microsoft D365 Master Planning, or Optimiza.
• Knowledge of Azure Machine Learning is a plus.
• Proficient in demand planning and inventory management practices.
• Familiarity with KPIs and metrics such as MAPE and Forecast Bias.
• Critical thinking skills to analyze data and define corrective actions.

Nice-to-haves

• APICS or IBF certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical methods for forecasting.
