About the position

The Demand Planner at Baker Distributing Company LLC is responsible for providing functional expertise in purchasing and inventory management across all business units. This role requires extensive experience and independent judgment to achieve corporate goals, working closely with Purchasing Management, Regional Managers, and the Director of Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Manage ERP and Demand Planning Software.
• Work with Line of Business leaders, vendors, and historical data to develop the best statistical forecast.
• Implement S&OP at the product family level and create separation between SKUs that require a base statistical resupply model and those that require more manual input.
• Manage vendor performance relevant to line(s) of business, including lead time, delivery accuracy, and order pack quantity.
• Optimize the balance of system data, forecasting, lead time, and other demand drivers to assure inventory is aligned with demand.
• Provide input and resupply models to buyers to build purchase patterns and monitor line performance.
• Conduct inventory optimization and SKU rationalization.
• Analyze cost and demand needs to provide profitable inventory assortment.
• Manage redistribution of inventory in wrong locations and identify profitable relocation methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related area, or equivalent substantive work experience.
• 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in purchasing and information systems.
• Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• 6 - 10 years of relevant experience in purchasing and information systems.
• Experience in the HVAC distribution environment.
• Experience training others on the use of purchasing systems.
