About the position

The Demand Planner at Axalta will support the Industrial Business in North America by driving demand, supply, and inventory decisions. This role involves collaboration with various teams to meet customer requirements and manage inventory metrics effectively. The individual will also provide functional guidance to other work streams and ensure that production aligns with customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day tasks to support the Industrial Business in North America, including forecasting and updating supply notes.
• Host demand calls with the commercial team and maintain a shutdown list while interacting with operations to set daily priorities.
• Manage forecasts in SAP / IBP and track back orders.
• Interact with Sales, Operations, Technical, and Product Groups to manage shutdown tracking and ensure production meets customer requirements.
• Resolve daily issues related to supply, logistics, and delivery in collaboration with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).
• Manage phase out/phase in processes and variability in production at customer sites.
• Work with product groups to launch and obsolete codes as required, and manage trial batch lists.
• Set up BOMs and routings for new products to support production planning and manage phase out inventory to zero.
• Host New Business Opportunity processes and look for opportunities to lower inventory while meeting customer requirements.
• Manage consignment inventory and inventory health to support SOX processes, and track Supply Chain KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in planning for a manufacturing company.
• Strong background in Microsoft Suite and Excel, including V-lookups, pivots, tables, and reports.
• SAP experience and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to present and lead meetings with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

• CPIM / APICS certification highly preferred.
• Experience with SAP / IBP highly preferred.
