About the position

Join the largest coffee retail company in the country as a Demand Planner in Seattle, WA. This position is a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension, offering a pay range of $20-$24 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supply chain management and a strong background in demand planning and forecasting. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for creating accurate demand plans that support customer service targets while balancing inventory fiscal responsibilities. You will utilize demand planning tools to develop statistical forecast models based on order history and adjust these plans to accommodate promotions, new product introductions, and supply chain strategies. As a Demand Planner, you will play a crucial role in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by comparing demand plans to business and financial plans, identifying gaps, and recommending actions to improve forecast accuracy. You will also be expected to provide demand plans in the absence of sales or category input, using sales and finance marketing information to drive your plans. Your recommendations will help improve supply chain processes that impact customer service and inventory levels, and you will create demand models that drive changes in customer and product mix. This role requires a candidate with at least three years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, and forecasting, along with strong Excel skills. Experience with Tableau or Sigma is a plus, and retail experience is preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop statistical forecast models using demand planning tools based on order history.
  • Support the creation of a demand plan by adjusting the plan to support promotions or events, new product introductions, phase-outs, and supply chain strategies.
  • Compare demand plans to business and financial plans to determine and resolve gaps through Demand Reviews in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Understand and facilitate S&OP within the enterprise.
  • Report forecast accuracy of demand plans.
  • Identify root causes and recommend actions to improve accuracy.
  • Provide a demand plan to support supply chain planning requirements and customer service levels in the absence of sales or category input.
  • Use sales and finance marketing information to drive demand plans.
  • Recommend supply chain processes for improvement in areas impacting customer service and inventory levels.
  • Create demand models that drive customer and/or product mix changes.
  • Adjust consensus plans to consider the consumption of forecasts, backlog, and supply constraints.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of supply chain, demand planning, and forecasting experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in Tableau/Sigma are a plus.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills required.
