About the position

The Demand Planner at Durex Industries is responsible for developing and maintaining a production schedule that aligns with customer demands and the master production schedule. This role involves coordinating materials and components for production, ensuring that inventory levels are appropriate, and facilitating communication between various teams to address any issues that may impact production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the production schedule for assigned area.
  • Responsible for material scheduling, updating ERP system and editing routine documents.
  • Create and schedule Manufacturing Orders (MOs) and Return Material Authorization (RMA) rework orders.
  • Provide checks at the completion of MOs, ensuring materials, scrap, and labor are issued.
  • Facilitate communication between multiple teams to analyze and identify risks associated with the master production plan.
  • Make delivery commitments on MTO products, checking uncommitted material and capacity availability.
  • Monitor actual versus plan, identifying gaps and driving solutions on production performance.
  • Report key deliverables to plant leaders in a timely manner.
  • Communicate proactively with customer service and suppliers to resolve operational issues.
  • Develop and own the Kanban process, adjusting sizes based on forecasted demand.
  • Coordinate with outside processing suppliers, releasing POs and establishing delivery dates.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methods and techniques, including Kanbans and data-driven thinking.
  • A technical degree in production, operations, or a related discipline is beneficial.
  • Experience in production scheduling within a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in MRP/ERP systems, preferably MS Dynamics ERP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • APICS certification preferred.
