About the position

Meta Reality Labs, the AR/VR business unit at Meta, is seeking an experienced, highly quantitative, and driven Demand Planner to focus on hardware demand forecasting and strategic planning. This position will require cross-functional coordination across several groups, with an emphasis on partnering with Sales Account Managers, Retailers, Channel Inventory Operations, Marketing, Data Science, and Business Development. You will combine strategic planning and decision making with data analytics and insights and are excited about AR/VR and consumer hardware. You also have an interest in data and technology, be highly analytical and demonstrate the experience to clearly communicate highly complex topics to a broad audience. This role will challenge you to understand and impact many facets of hardware business strategy, including sales planning, financial forecasting, strategic pricing, trade marketing, and sales and supply chain analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on hardware demand forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales Account Managers, Retailers, Channel Inventory Operations, Marketing, Data Science, and Business Development.
  • Combine strategic planning and decision making with data analytics and insights.
  • Understand and impact facets of hardware business strategy including sales planning, financial forecasting, strategic pricing, trade marketing, and sales and supply chain analytics.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in business-related or quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or similar discipline).
  • 2+ years of experience in hardware products (including accessories) demand forecasting.
  • 6+ years of experience in business strategy, finance, analytics or sales planning.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite of products.
  • Experience with forecasting tools (e.g. Anaplan, Algo, e2open, Logility, etc.).
  • Experience in problem solving individually and in a group setting.
  • Knowledge of financial drivers of the business.
  • Experience with statistical forecasting methods and forecast accuracy metrics.
  • Experience with advanced Excel.
  • Ability to shift priorities, while maintaining organization and control.
  • Experience in strategic planning in tech company, investment banking or strategy consulting with a focus on technology.
  • Experience with S&OP and CPFR processes.
  • Experience in communicating insights gained from data with clarity and impact.
  • Experience with SQL/Tableau/Power BI/visualization tools.
  • Experience in consumer electronics businesses.
