About the position

Quality, efficiency, and safety are paramount in our operations at Danone. We are currently seeking a Demand Planner to join our Supply Chain team, based in either Broomfield, CO or White Plains, NY. The Demand Planner will play a crucial role in providing timely and accurate forecasts as part of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This position involves working closely with various departments to ensure that forecasts are aligned with brand and pack group requirements on a monthly basis. The Demand Planner will utilize forecast consumption models, innovation planning, and provide critical input for the forecast alignment process, which includes baseline forecasts, marketing event impacts, and trade event intelligence in collaboration with the marketing teams. The Demand Planner will be responsible for using syndicated data and forecasting models to build innovation forecasts, analyzing forecasts based on category and product trends, and changes in marketing and sales plans. This role requires active leadership and participation in the S&OP forecast process, aligning an 18-month forecast by brand and product group based on sales and marketing plan inputs. Additionally, the Demand Planner will develop forecasts for new product rollouts and line extensions, utilizing the SAP-based APO Demand Planning system, and will analyze short-term forecasts and promotional volumes using various data sources. The position also involves maintaining scorecard data to monitor and optimize forecast performance continuously. The Demand Planner will be accountable for the accuracy of the S&OP forecast across brands, sales divisions, and pack groups on a monthly basis, and will lead projects aimed at improving the efficiency of the Demand Planning organization.

Responsibilities

  • Use syndicated data and forecasting models to build innovation forecasts.
  • Analyze forecast based on category/product trends along with changes in marketing and sales plans.
  • Actively lead and participate in the S&OP forecast process, responsible for aligning 18-month forecast by brand/product group based on sales and marketing plan input.
  • Align with Marketing on forecast updates and drivers on rolling 18-month forecast.
  • Develop forecasts for new product rollouts and line extensions, utilizing SAP-based APO Demand Planning system.
  • Develop and analyze short-term forecast and promotional volume in APO utilizing POS trends, promotional plans, marketing plans, and customer inventory levels.
  • Maintain scorecard data to monitor and optimize forecast performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of S&OP forecast brand, sales division, pack group by month.
  • Develop projects to improve the Demand Planning organization and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Finance.
  • 4+ years of Demand Planning experience or relevant work experience.
  • Expertise in Demand Planning software.
  • SAP APO application experience preferred.
  • Experience in CPG industry with a specific emphasis on Planning or Supply Chain functions preferred.
  • Superior MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Expertise using Syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielsen).
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical and analytical concepts.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work both on short-term and long-term planning.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Presentation and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of SAP APO system is a plus.
  • Experience in the CPG industry is preferred.
