About the position

The Demand Planner at Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) is responsible for all forecasting activities related to suppliers, products, and customers. This role involves creating and maintaining forecast models, cleansing demand history, and incorporating business intelligence from various stakeholders. The Demand Planner will facilitate collaborative planning processes to achieve consensus on operational demand forecasts and manage the demand planning system and software.

Responsibilities

  • Create statistical forecasts by gathering, analyzing, and validating data.
  • Execute statistical modeling software and review resulting statistical forecast models.
  • Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Summarize and aggregate statistical forecasts for review.
  • Review demand plans with key stakeholders including sales, finance, and portfolio managers.
  • Present and assess feedback on forecasts from sales and finance teams.
  • Recommend adjustments for operational forecasts based on stakeholder input.
  • Review promotional plans with sales and portfolio managers.
  • Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts through collaborative planning processes.
  • Prepare relevant materials to promote discussion and decision-making in meetings.
  • Facilitate and manage demand planning and supplier meetings.
  • Maintain the demand planning system and software, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Monitor trends in forecast error and identify relevant market-related data.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to the demand planning process.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of demand planning/forecasting experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent decision-making and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various teams.
  • Good facilitation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Supply Chain, Mathematics, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in the Wine & Spirits or Distribution industry.
