About the position

As a Demand Planner at Empire Packing, you will play a crucial role in managing direct contact with customers and handling their requests. This includes overseeing inbound and outbound deliveries of case-ready meat products from various plants. You will be responsible for writing and managing orders, ensuring accuracy, committing to inventory, and promising delivery dates based on material availability, customer needs, and production schedules. Your role will also involve assisting in managing inventory levels to meet customer demands while controlling costs. This includes managing costs from suppliers to the procurement system to ensure proper billing to stores, maintaining inventory levels to support shelf life expectations, and communicating raw material forecasts based on scan projections and shipment reports. In addition, you will manage demand exceptions related to compliance, forecast bias, and anomalies, maximizing the accuracy of the demand schedule by analyzing historical projections against actuals. You will support supply and production planning by prioritizing inventory needs, forecasting new items, and managing product phase-outs and special builds. Establishing production plans and priorities based on customer requirements will also be a key responsibility. You will oversee the logistics of customer and supplier demands, tracking performance of supply chain and logistics KPIs such as inventory turns, fill rates, and planned costs versus actual costs. Utilizing ERP platforms and other tools, you will conduct analyses for forecast availability and accuracy, working with cross-functional teams to ensure that any activities affecting forecasts are accounted for in monthly projections. Additionally, you will coordinate order changes in production scheduling and shipping, resolving daily issues related to material rejections and production changes due to equipment breakdowns.
