About the position

The Demand Planner at ECCO is a pivotal role responsible for creating accurate product demand forecasts and maintaining a healthy inventory that aligns with these forecasts. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring that inventory levels meet demand efficiently, balancing product availability with optimal inventory levels to drive business success and enhance customer satisfaction. The Demand Planner will work closely with various teams, including Sales, Merchandising, and Supply Chain, to ensure that the forecasting process is data-driven and effective. In this role, the Demand Planner will create and update product demand forecasts, utilizing market insights to collaborate with Sales for accurate forecasting. The position requires the use of data insights to improve forecast accuracy and identify causes for any variances. The Demand Planner will also be responsible for maintaining the Anaplan planning tool, ensuring it is up to date with the latest forecasts. Additionally, the role involves analyzing and reporting on forecasting accuracy, creating reports, and sharing insights with relevant teams. The Demand Planner will also focus on improving forecasting and planning processes by incorporating best practices and collaborating with the Data and AI Team to integrate advanced algorithms and tools into regional planning processes. Participation in monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings is also a key responsibility, along with proactively identifying stockouts and excess inventory, and collaborating with the Inventory team to balance stock across channels and markets. Other duties may include special projects as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in the role.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update product demand forecasts
  • Work closely with Sales to create accurate forecasts based on market insights
  • Utilize data insights to improve forecast accuracy and identify causes for variance
  • Collaborate with HQ to ensure Anaplan is up to date with forecasts
  • Create and maintain reports on forecast accuracy and changes
  • Analyze forecasts and share insights with Sales, Merchandising, and Supply Chain
  • Improve current planning methods to incorporate best practices
  • Collaborate with the Data and AI Team to embed algorithms and tools in regional planning processes
  • Contribute to and participate in monthly S&OP meetings
  • Proactively identify stockouts and excess inventory at forecast shifts
  • Collaborate with Inventory team to balance stock across channels and transfer across markets
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience, preferably with a mathematical foundation
  • 1+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, or Sales Planning function
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong analytical skills to extract insights from large datasets and complex reports
  • Knowledge of forecasting methods, algorithms, and data modeling
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with Anaplan and Power BI preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level
  • Ability to travel up to 5%, both domestic and internationally
