About the position

The Demand Planner for Axalta's Industrial Business is responsible for driving demand, supply, and inventory decisions to support the North American market. This role involves collaboration with various teams to meet customer requirements and manage inventory metrics effectively. The individual will also provide functional guidance to other work streams and ensure that production schedules align with customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day tasks to support the Industrial Business in North America, including forecasting and hosting demand calls.
  • Manage forecast in SAP / IBP and track back orders.
  • Interact with Sales, Operations, Technical, and Product Groups to ensure alignment on demand requirements.
  • Manage shutdown tracking and work with the Master Scheduler to meet production schedules.
  • Resolve daily issues related to supply, logistics, and delivery with Customer Service Representatives.
  • Ensure inventory availability to meet customer requirements and manage phase out/phase in processes.
  • Launch and obsolete product codes as required and manage trial batch lists.
  • Set up BOMs and routings for new products to support production planning.
  • Manage consignment inventory and inventory health to support SOX processes.
  • Support the IBP process for service levels, performance against production schedules, and inventory strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in planning for a manufacturing company.
  • Ability to present and lead meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong background in Microsoft Suite and Excel (V-lookups, pivots, tables, reports).
  • SAP experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make decisions independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPIM / APICS certification highly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP / IBP highly preferred.
