About the position

The Demand Planner at Owens & Minor plays a crucial role in the healthcare supply chain by executing demand planning processes and collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate demand forecasts. This position is responsible for improving forecast accuracy, enhancing customer satisfaction, and optimizing inventory management. The Demand Planner will work closely with sales, finance, operations, and marketing to align on demand plans and drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand planning models and tools to improve forecast accuracy and reliability in North America.
  • Support Planning System Master Data maintenance, including parameter tuning and demand forecasting unit creation.
  • Monitor and audit automated Market Insight to capture sales and marketing opportunities accurately.
  • Utilize historical sales data and market trends to forecast customer demand for products.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather insights and align on demand forecasts.
  • Support the New Customer Onboarding Process and Customer Exits.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy and forecast bias for improvement.
  • Lead and support sustainable process improvement using Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in the demand planning process and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve demand planning processes and methodologies.
  • Support Next Gen Digital Supply Chain projects with user acceptance testing and business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7 or more years in Demand Planning, preferably in Medical Products.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical and forecasting methods.
  • Extensive experience in Demand Planning systems, with SAP IBP preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different organizational levels through strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with external customers to align on demand plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams to create unified demand plans.
  • Ability to manipulate large datasets and perform complex calculations.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in demand planning.
