About the position

The Demand Planner position based in Kennesaw, GA, is a full-time, exempt role focused on developing accurate demand plans and scenarios. The primary objective of this role is to enhance the statistical forecast baseline by gathering insights from sales and facilitating discussions to achieve consensus on future demand. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the company can meet customer demand effectively while balancing supply and production capabilities. In this role, the Demand Planner will maintain statistical models used for demand planning and generate statistical forecasts. They will calculate forecast error, bias, and value add, driving action plans to improve forecast accuracy. Collaboration with the commercial and sales teams is essential to acquire necessary demand signals and forecasts. The Demand Planner will gather inputs for demand review meetings, facilitate these meetings, and act as a subject matter expert on forecasts, demand, and product outlooks for the business. Additionally, the Demand Planner will review the monetized financial impact of demand plans, identify demand risks, and make recommendations to close any gaps. They will work closely with supply and production teams to balance supply and demand imbalances, understand production capabilities and capacities, and drive improvement processes and sustainability across the supply chain. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains any statistical models used for demand planning
  • Generates statistical forecast, calculates forecast error, bias, and value add, and drives action plans to improve forecast accuracy
  • Works closely with commercial/sales to acquire necessary demand signals and forecast
  • Gathers necessary inputs for the demand review meetings
  • Facilitates demand review meetings and acts as subject matter expert for forecast, demand, and product outlooks for the business
  • Reviews monetized financial impact
  • Identifies demand risks and makes recommendations on ways to close gaps
  • Works with supply and production teams to balance supply/demand imbalances
  • Understands production capabilities and capacities as part of overall demand plan
  • Drives improvement processes and sustainability across the supply chain.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in demand planning
  • Experience in a 'made to order' environment is a plus
  • APICS or CSCMP certifications a plus
  • Statistical analysis skills
  • Knowledge of demand forecasting techniques
  • Understanding of the end-to-end S&OP and S&OE process
  • Ability to work with large datasets
  • Comfortable with facilitating meetings and driving consensus
