About the position

The Demand Planner / Planning Analyst is responsible for maximizing inventory and service levels through accurate SKU forecasting and serving as a systems and reporting expert to support other demand planners. This role requires exceptional quantitative analytical skills and the ability to deliver actionable insights to management and cross-functional stakeholders. The position offers opportunities for growth into various roles within demand planning and business intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently roll up individual demand plans for aggregate reporting.
  • Provide leadership and insights to business partners.
  • Maintain and distribute departmental tools used by demand planners.
  • Conduct monthly forecast accuracy analysis and provide recaps to management.
  • Perform standardized and ad-hoc analysis on various demand-related metrics.
  • Collaborate with supply planning to determine inventory options for canceled orders.
  • Develop pre-season assortment plans and demand forecasts for customer accounts.
  • Create and maintain monthly demand forecasts for supply planning and finance.
  • Document forecast methodology and identify drivers affecting forecasts.
  • Monitor individual account forecast accuracy and volatility.
  • Diagnose and summarize root causes of demand inaccuracies and service level issues.
  • Assist in auditing and cleansing the customer sales order/demand pool.
  • Alert supply planning to demand inaccuracy risks and suggest corrective actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide insights for risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Business Intelligence, or Forecasting.
  • Outstanding computer analytical skills with large datasets, including advanced Excel and MS Access.
  • Experience with reporting/analysis tools such as Tableau, Sigma, SQL, and Crystal Reports.
  • Excellent quantitative skills for statistical and financial analysis.
  • Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function independently and take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Wholesale Customer/Account Service or Finance.
  • Footwear or apparel industry experience.
  • Basic programming knowledge in SQL, VBA, or Power Queries.
