About the position

The Demand Planner at ZT Systems will play a crucial role in collecting and analyzing historical warranty service information, warranty tickets, and warranty time frames to identify trends that will be used to estimate future product demand. This analysis will be based on existing and future deployments, which will help in planning inventory and seed stock by data center. The individual in this position will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate inventory is allocated to the ZT inventory stocking locations, as well as managing any problematic items that may arise. The overarching goal is to maximize service levels while minimizing overstocks, which is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. In this role, the Demand Planner will interface with multiple departments to achieve these objectives. Key responsibilities include reviewing seed stock requests and analyzing data to allocate inventory effectively to the data centers. The planner will also audit existing data centers to ensure they have the necessary seed stock and collaborate with regional managers on seed stock balancing. Additionally, the planner will work closely with regional RMA hubs and regional managers to balance inventory effectively. The Demand Planner will be tasked with reviewing open RMA tickets that lack inventory availability and escalating problematic items as necessary. Ad hoc analysis will be conducted as needed, and the planner will review items that need to be transferred weekly using the “hot list.” Collaboration with procurement will be essential to obtain the needed inventory based on the demand plan, and the planner will work with PCR/Engineering to ensure alternatives are available before items reach their end-of-life (EOL). Recommendations for last-time buy (LTB) items will also be part of the responsibilities to ensure continuity until alternatives are available. The planner will focus on improving fill rates, service level agreements (SLA), and inventory turns, while also collaborating with the services team on any inventory-related issues and assisting the RMA team in resolving open tickets. Conducting and auditing physical counts quarterly will also be part of the role.
