About the position

The Galls Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting and planning products within specified product categories, ensuring optimal inventory levels and forecast accuracy across the network. This role collaborates with the merchandising team to align demand with business objectives and market trends, while also providing insights on new product performance and managing exceptional demand.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for inventory service levels and inventory turns.
  • Analyze sales channel, vendor, and product parameters to create forecasts that optimize inventory levels.
  • Establish and manage item level statistical forecasts for specific categories.
  • Act as the functional expert for Galls demand planning, including e-commerce and sales channels.
  • Create forecasts and initial planning for new product rollouts, including setting up item parameters and demand curves.
  • Provide insights to merchants on the performance of new products.
  • Manage exceptional demand by reviewing system-generated alerts and validating demand with key owners.
  • Facilitate collaboration with merchandising, agency demand planning, and supply planning teams for optimal inventory levels.
  • Support monthly business reviews by sharing performance, trends, and opportunities with the merchant.
  • Monitor data accuracy within planning tools.

  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to tell a business story backed by data.
  • Proficient understanding of business management and supply chain principles.
  • Experience with demand planning, inventory, and supply chain optimization tools.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and experienced with data tools like Tableau, Qlik, or PowerBI.
  • Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in multi-channel business including store, catalog, and web.
  • Strong analytical skills to convert data into actionable insights.
