About the position

The Demand Planner at Abbott will be responsible for driving and implementing inventory planning activities while optimizing global supply chain strategies. This role focuses on maintaining customer service levels, managing inventory processes, and ensuring timely procurement and delivery of assigned Reagent product categories.

Responsibilities

• Drive and implement inventory planning activities across the supply chain.
• Maintain target customer service levels and satisfaction.
• Ensure divisional inventory processes are in place to identify and resolve inventory issues.
• Plan, procure, and manage on-time delivery and inventory levels for assigned products.
• Continuously review and update planning reports to determine material requirements and safety stocks.
• Prepare forecasts and Latest Best Estimates (LBEs) for assigned products.
• Identify purchase price variances and research alternatives to optimize costs.
• Support annual Standard Setting and Plan processes.
• Lead the implementation of new systems and planning projects.
• Act as a liaison between departments to minimize schedule impacts.
• Optimize manufacturing schedules and influence supply chain network costs.
• Minimize distress risk with product expiration while holding customer guarantees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of related work experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of business concepts, procedures, and practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree preferred.
• Experience in Materials Management, Manufacturing, or Planning.
• APICS certification preferred.
