As the Demand Planner, you play an essential role in our sales and supply chain organization within Modine's Air Cooled Application business. You will be creating and maintaining the consensus demand plan at multiple levels of aggregation, using statistical models, and leveraging insights from Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance teams. This individual will work cross functionally with multiple teams within the organization including sales to determine customer demand, supply chain to stay updated on parts availability, operations to be informed on throughput and capacity, engineering for new product development time horizon, and finance to ensure profitability targets are achieved. This position is at our Racine, Wisconsin global headquarters and allows for a hybrid work schedule. Key Responsibilities include building out and leading commercial S&OP processes including global demand planning, commercial alignment meetings with sales, manufacturing, logistics and finance, loading forecasts, and presenting net effects of forecasts to Manufacturing, Finance, and Sr Executive leadership. You will review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results. Interacting with sales, marketing, and finance to develop a consensus and forecast event drivers across categories and customers is crucial. You will also document and retain history of planning assumptions, develop complete analysis/timeline related to demand for new product launches, and maintain a working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain components.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building out and leading commercial S&OP processes including global demand planning, commercial alignment meetings with sales, manufacturing, logistics and finance, loading forecasts, and presenting net effects of forecasts to Manufacturing, Finance, and Sr Executive leadership.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to develop a consensus and forecast event drivers across categories and customers.
  • Document and retain history of planning assumptions.
  • Develop complete analysis/timeline related to demand for new product launches.
  • Develop aggregate level forecast to align cross-functional planning across the business unit.
  • Understand how environmental factors, market dynamics, competitors and internal programs or overrides generate the need to adjust the mathematical forecast.
  • Maintain working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain components including forecasting, inventory management, promotional planning, basic department management, master data management, item lifecycle and disposition, seasonal planning, DC operations, store ordering and operations, supplier planning and order fulfillment.
  • Drive root cause analysis to understand demand plan error in prior periods and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that product is available in the quantity and time needed to support customer demand, capacity constraints all while meeting inventory and service level targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business or related technical field.
  • 3+ years demand planning and/or supply chain planning experience.
  • Understanding of ERP and APS (i.e., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Logility, etc.).
  • Must have oral and written communication skills for presentations to all levels of customer and management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Excel & analytics skills Required (i.e., power query, power pivots, VBA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to present in front of groups of people.
  • Ability to work with multiple business functions and find balance in conflicting priorities.
  • Advanced analytical and statistical abilities including concepts such as standard deviation, forecast error, bias, and mean average percent error (MAPE).
  • Knowledge and experience working in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
