About the position

As a Demand Planner at Scalence in Austin, TX, you will play a critical role in forecasting demand, managing inventory, and ensuring optimal sell-through across multiple channels. Your analytical capabilities, business acumen, and leadership skills will be essential as you navigate a matrixed organization, collaborating effectively with various teams to achieve financial objectives. You will be responsible for generating weekly and quarterly supply plans, evaluating risks, and implementing contingency plans to mitigate potential issues. Your ability to analyze product sales will help identify opportunities for improvement and drive necessary actions within partner groups. In this position, you will work closely with regional product planning teams to ensure that supply plans align with sales requirements. You will coordinate with Marketing and New Product Operations teams to determine launch quantities for new product introductions and facilitate smooth transitions for existing products. Additionally, you will collaborate with global procurement teams to allocate constrained components, achieve raw material inventory targets, and minimize material obsolescence during product transitions. Your role will also involve presenting product updates and recommended actions to the Operations executive management team on a weekly basis. You will be tasked with identifying improvement opportunities within the product planning process, marshaling resources, and driving projects to completion. This position requires less than 10% travel, allowing you to focus on your core responsibilities while maintaining a work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast demand, inventory, and multi-channel sell through.
  • Generate weekly and quarterly supply plans that meet financial objectives.
  • Evaluate risks and plan contingency measures to mitigate them.
  • Analyze product sales to identify opportunities for action.
  • Partner closely with regional product planning teams to ensure supply plans meet sales requirements.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and New Product Operations teams for new product launches and transitions.
  • Collaborate with global procurement teams to allocate constrained components and achieve raw material inventory targets.
  • Present product updates and recommended actions to the Operations executive management team weekly.

Requirements

  • MBA or Master's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience is desired.
  • 5 years of experience in forecasting demand/inventory is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in product planning or production control is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in quantitative analysis is preferred.
  • Prior experience in fields that demand complex quantitative analysis such as finance or consulting is desired.
  • Prior experience in product planning, production control, inventory management, or production/manufacturing operations is a plus.
