About the position

We are looking for a Demand Planner to join our team in Chicago! In this role, you will report to the Manager of Demand Planning and collaborate with various partners to develop a consensus forecast. Your primary responsibility will be to translate this consensus into a detailed 24-month operational forecast. You will focus on understanding volume drivers to enhance forecast accuracy and identify risks that may impact our action plans, ensuring successful plan delivery. Your experience with analytics will be crucial, as you will need to convert analytic results into actionable insights that add value to our operations. As a Demand Planner, you will lead the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) forecast consensus process. This involves working closely with partners in sales, brand management, supply chain, and finance to gather necessary forecast inputs. You will also collaborate with production planning and deployment teams to translate these consensus forecasts into an operational forecast that encompasses the entire network. Ensuring successful execution of customer promotions will be part of your responsibilities, as you will apply customer event inputs to the planning process. Additionally, you will engage in forecasting for new item launches, from the ideation phase through to production. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to relay any changes to the forecast and keep all partners informed. You will also be responsible for reporting on forecast accuracy and leading efforts to refine and improve forecasting processes, tools, and systems to enhance overall results. Supporting the annual planning process for designated brands and presenting findings that drive understanding, alignment, and informed decision-making will also be part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly S&OP forecast consensus process by working with partners in sales, brand, supply chain, and finance to obtain forecast inputs
  • Work with production planning and deployment to translate the consensus forecasts into an operational forecast for the entire network
  • Ensure successful customer promotion execution through planning and applying customer event inputs
  • Engagement in forecasting of new item launches from ideation to production
  • Aid in the communication flow of changes to forecast and communicate information to all partners
  • Report on forecast accuracy and lead the refinement and improvement of forecasting process, tools, and systems to improve results
  • Support annual planning process for designated brands
  • Present findings that drive understanding, alignment, and informed decision-making

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of relatable work experience
  • A basic understanding of supply chain processes and the downstream effects of demand planning
  • Experience refining and maintaining advanced consumption/shipment machine learning or statistical models
  • Analytical skills and some statistical knowledge
  • Experience leading projects
  • Experience with Microsoft applications - Excel (Advanced formulas and pivot tables)
