About the position

The Demand Planner position at PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. is responsible for all forecasting and demand planning activities related to customers and products. This role involves creating and maintaining forecast models, leading the monthly consensus forecasting process, and collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment in demand planning. The Demand Planner serves as a key integration point within the sales and commercial organization, utilizing business intelligence and market data to drive accurate demand forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Develops an unconstrained forecast driven by statistics, market intelligence, sales programs, and product life cycle.
• Maintains strong relationships and works closely with Sales and Marketing to understand demand drivers and incorporate them into the forecast.
• Facilitates a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing, and finance to achieve a consensus operational demand forecast.
• Collaborates with various teams to ensure alignment in demand plans from a top-level perspective to detailed customer needs.
• Assists in generating major assumptions package of economic and market indicators for forecasting and strategic planning.
• Delivers the confirmed unconstrained unit forecast to supply planning and purchasing teams.
• Works closely with supply planning and purchasing teams to understand supply issues impacting the sales forecast.
• Develops inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs for effective inventory management.
• Manages and maintains forecasting and demand planning systems and software.
• Prepares and maintains relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, supply chain, or related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
• Proficiency in using root cause analysis to improve forecast accuracy and demand planning processes.
• Ability to independently identify and resolve problems or take advantage of opportunities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all teams and levels of business affecting the forecasting process.
• Familiarity with private label fasteners, building supplies, MRO materials, and hardware and/or hand tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with wholesale distribution and complex supply chain networks is preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced demand planning software is preferred.
