About the position

The Demand Planning position at Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) is an entry-level role focused on forecasting activities related to suppliers, products, and customers. The Demand Planner will create and maintain forecast models, analyze demand history, and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve consensus on operational demand forecasts. This role is essential for ensuring accurate demand planning and supporting the company's growth in the wine and spirits wholesale industry.

Responsibilities

  • Create statistical forecasts by gathering, analyzing, and validating data.
  • Execute statistical modeling software and review resulting statistical forecast models.
  • Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Summarize and aggregate statistical forecasts for review.
  • Review demand plans with key stakeholders including sales, finance, and portfolio managers.
  • Present and assess feedback on forecasts from sales, portfolio managers, and finance teams.
  • Recommend adjustments for operational forecasts based on stakeholder input.
  • Review promotional plans with sales and portfolio managers.
  • Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts through collaborative planning processes.
  • Prepare relevant materials to facilitate discussion and decision-making.
  • Facilitate and manage demand planning and supplier meetings.
  • Maintain the demand planning system and software, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Monitor trends in forecast error and identify relevant market-related data.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to the demand planning process.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various teams.
  • 2-3 years of demand planning or forecasting experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • BA/BS degree with a focus in Supply Chain, Mathematics, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in the Wine & Spirits or Distribution industry.
