About the position

The Demand Planner will be instrumental in developing forecasts that support the Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) process. This role involves forecasting product demand at the SKU/sales sub-region level and presenting high-level summaries to senior leadership. The Demand Planner will collaborate with various teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Supply Planning, to create and maintain demand plans that align with the company's business objectives. The position is primarily remote but requires occasional on-site visits to the Richmond Brewery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand plans at multiple levels of aggregation for a rolling 18-to-24-month time horizon
  • Track and improve forecast KPIs such as accuracy and bias
  • Analyze historical sales trends, demand drivers, and use statistical models to inform forecast
  • Understand and incorporate foundational building blocks of demand forecasts, such as points of distribution and rate of sale to ensure forecasts align with market size and realities
  • Analyze internal and competitor sales to provide guidance across brands, regions, package types and distribution channels
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of demand plans with sales promotions, new product launches, and other business activities
  • Communicate demand changes to stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Document and track demand assumptions, highlighting performance and providing recommendations
  • Lead recurring forecast reviews with key stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain
  • Determine and communicate forecast confidence, including risks and opportunities, to varying levels of the organization
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Create ad hoc analyses and presentation materials as necessary

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operational Management, Finance, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience: 2-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably at a Food, Beverage, or CPG company; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer Skills: Computer literacy and experience with internet, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills, Data Visualization software (Power BI, Tableau) and statistics/data blending tools
  • Language Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle large datasets and derive actionable insights
  • Demonstrated ability in creative problem-solving with an interest in bringing progressive solutions to move the organization forward
  • Strong sense of urgency with ability to prioritize effectively and drive results in a fast-paced environment
