About the position

The Demand Planner at Abbott Laboratories is responsible for driving and implementing inventory planning activities while optimizing global supply chain strategies. This role ensures that customer service levels are maintained and inventory processes are effectively managed to resolve any issues throughout the supply chain. The Demand Planner will also oversee the planning, procurement, and delivery of assigned product categories, contributing to the overall financial goals of the division.

Responsibilities

• Drive and implement inventory planning activities across the supply chain.
• Maintain target customer service levels and satisfaction.
• Ensure divisional inventory processes are in place to identify and resolve inventory issues.
• Plan, procure, and ensure on-time delivery of assigned Reagent product categories.
• Continuously review and update planning reports to determine material requirements and safety stocks.
• Prepare forecasts and Latest Best Estimates (LBEs) for assigned products.
• Identify purchase price variances and research alternatives to optimize costs.
• Support the annual Standard Setting and Plan processes.
• Act as a liaison between departments to minimize schedule impacts.
• Determine schedules to optimize manufacturing and influence supply chain costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of related work experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of business concepts, procedures, and practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree preferred.
• Experience in Materials Management, Manufacturing, or Planning.
• APICS certification preferred.
