About the position

HWC - RNDC IL Demand Planner is a highly visible position responsible for maintaining all monthly purchasing forecasts. The role will drive collaboration with the Portfolio Management team to reconcile forecast gaps and adjust the baseline forecast. The role will utilize sales data to provide effective demand forecasts aimed at optimizing inventory. Responsibilities

  • Work with the portfolio management teams to forecast our sales needs.
  • Closely coordinate customer action plans with the portfolio management team.
  • Use and maintain the demand planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Review historical sales trends.
  • Send purchase orders to the portfolio team for their approval before sending them to suppliers.
  • Identify risks of where there is a possible shortage of product - direct import vs domestic shipping.
  • Identify errors in the forecasting tool due to overstock, customer distros, seasonal sales and trends.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports for the portfolio managers.
  • Recommend adjustments for forecast to the portfolio management team.
  • Create new items and related information.
  • Work closely with warehouse and portfolio management teams.
  • Send and track all direct import orders and collaborate with customs broker regarding incoming shipments.
  • 3-point confirmation of product and freight invoices.
  • Work with our freight forwarders to get the orders here and that includes - ETAs, port delays, transportation shortages/issues.
  • Administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in demand planning or direct purchasing.
  • Experience with demand planning/forecasting software.
  • Prior experience with Blue Ridge software highly preferred.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Exemplary Dependability and Efficiency.
  • Ability to effectively present information and promptly respond to inquiries from managers, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
