About the position

Willamette Valley Vineyards is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Demo Ambassadors. This part-time position is perfect for those who are natural storytellers and enjoy engaging with people. As a Demo Ambassador, you will represent our brand at various local events and tastings around Salem, Oregon, specifically in Costco demo spaces. Your primary role will be to generate excitement and customer engagement, enhance brand awareness, and drive product sales through wine tasting demonstrations. This position does not involve pouring wine but focuses on creating a memorable experience for customers through effective communication and education about our products. In this role, you will be responsible for executing assigned demos, roadshows, and offsite events. This includes physically preparing, maintaining, and cleaning the demonstration area, which involves setting up and breaking down the space. You will engage customers in a professional manner, educating them about our wines, offering samples, and collecting contacts of wine enthusiasts interested in further engagement with our winery. Additionally, you will manage sample and supply inventory, complete demo tasting forms, and support the company's sustainability efforts. The position requires a flexible schedule, typically working three days a week (Thursday to Saturday) from 10 AM to 5 or 6 PM, based on availability. This role is ideal for individuals who are dependable, adaptable, and possess a genuine interest in the luxury wine business. You will have the opportunity to learn about the history and stories of Willamette Valley Vineyards, which will enhance your ability to educate customers and support brand growth.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned demos, roadshows, and offsite events.
  • Physically prepare, maintain, and clean the demonstration area, including setting up and breaking down the demonstration.
  • Engage customers in a professional and memorable manner to generate enthusiasm for the brand and create a positive shopper experience.
  • Educate consumers about the products, offer samples, create brand awareness, and drive product sales.
  • Collect contacts of wine enthusiasts interested in continued engagement with the winery.
  • Request product samples for tastings and manage sample and supply inventory, completing regular reconciliations and addressing discrepancies.
  • Electronically complete and submit Demo Tasting Forms and Price & Stack Surveys.
  • Support the company's efforts to create a more sustainable, cross-cultural, and 'green' environment.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid/current OLCC Server's Permit and Food Handler's Card.
  • A current Driver's License and a clean/good driving record, or reliable means of transportation.
  • Smartphone, tablet, or reliable computer access.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs and navigate stairs and hilly terrain.
  • Ability to bend, reach, turn, twist, and otherwise maneuver.
  • Stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work weekends and evenings as pre-arranged with a supervisor.
  • Communicate verbally through active-listening skills and gather accurate insights into human behavior.
  • Complete online forms and have basic computer or smartphone skills to enter and locate information.
  • Work independently as a self-starter, but also as a team player.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions appropriately.
  • Comply with all state liquor laws, regulations, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
