About the position

The Demo Engineer position at Sectra is a vital role focused on supporting healthcare IT solutions by maintaining and developing a global demo environment that showcases the company's medical IT products. This position involves working with a miniaturized hospital image management system, ensuring that Sectra's solutions are effectively presented at various industry events and trade fairs. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and partners, as well as hands-on troubleshooting during demos, making it an exciting opportunity for those passionate about healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

  • Support a multi-state territory across the U.S. and Canada
  • Maintain and develop Sectra's demo environment, a virtual system mimicking a hospital's image management setup
  • Manage and maintain the Sectra demo fleet, working with both software and hardware
  • Collaborate with partners and internal stakeholders to provide hardware and system configurations for virtualized environments and the cloud
  • Install and maintain demo systems for industry trade fairs, sales visits, and internal events
  • Responsible for booking shipments, managing shipping and receiving, and coordinating logistics for all demo activities and events
  • Assist with troubleshooting during customer demos and tradeshow setups- remotely or on premise
  • Work with a variety of technologies, including Microsoft Azure, virtualization, Hyper-V, deployment, PowerShell, SQL, DICOM, HL7, networking, Linux, Windows, HAProxy, and Active Directory
  • Receive hands-on training and mentorship from senior demo engineering staff, gaining knowledge and progressing to more advanced tasks as your skills develop

Requirements

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Computer Science, Radiology) or equivalent experience
  • Basic familiarity with Sectra, its products, and company culture (or a willingness to learn quickly)
  • Foundational knowledge of hardware, system software (such as VMware), and cloud infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of DICOM, HL-7, and TCP/IP networking and security concepts (or the ability to learn and apply these technologies)
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Interest in working across the Sales and Service teams to benefit Sectra and its customers
  • Tech-savvy with an understanding of how data-based systems function
  • Service-minded with a helpful approach—people should feel comfortable coming to you with questions, and you should be responsive
  • Ability to say no and ask why—critical when faced with multiple demands
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to teach and explain technical concepts
  • Independent worker who enjoys meeting new people, helping solve their problems, and supporting their success
  • Work outside of normal business hours may be required
