About The Position

Requirements

• Must have completed an educational program accredited by the Department of Education.
• Must be certified as a radiographer in the field.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 for GS-05 applicants.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 for GS-06 applicants.
• Completion of a full 4-year course of study in dental assistant or dental hygiene program.
• Must have a current I.H.S. or State dental radiological health and safety certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a dental hygiene or dental assistant program accredited by the American Dental Association.
• Completion of continuing education courses in expanded functions for dental assistants.

Responsibilities

• Perform restoration of teeth after preparation.
• Provide routine prophylaxis and placement of sealants and varnish.
• Set up proper instruments and provide chairside assistance.
• Expose and process digital oral x-rays.
• Perform Class IV restorations of teeth after preparation.
• Cement stainless steel crowns.
• Carve and polish cusp protected alloy.
