About the position

We are seeking a full-time experienced Dental Assistant to join our small, family-oriented dental practice in Coronado, CA. The role involves providing personalized, gentle care to patients in a low-stress environment. The ideal candidate will be upbeat, skilled, and able to communicate effectively with patients while assisting the dentist in various procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in all 4-handed dentistry procedures
• Prepare patients for treatments or checkups and ensure their comfort
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and necessary materials
• Sterilize instruments according to regulation
• Take digital x-rays
• Take impressions and pour models
• Make temporary crowns and be familiar with implant crowns
• Perform dental charting and record patient information
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
• Maintain a clean and organized dental office environment
• Assist front office staff as needed

Requirements

• Current X-ray certification
• Current CPR certification
• Coronal polishing certification
• Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures
• Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
