About the position

The Dental Assistant III position at Sea Mar Community Health Centers involves assisting dental providers in delivering a variety of dental procedures in accordance with Washington State regulations. This full-time role requires knowledge of sterilization methods, OSHA regulations, and the ability to perform various dental tasks, including taking impressions and maintaining dental records. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and communication skills, particularly in a bilingual English/Spanish context.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dental provider in restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
• Duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, and take impressions.
• Pour and trim models, place retraction cord, and place matrix bands.
• Perform coronal polishing and give fluoride treatments.
• Maintain proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS) and spore tests.
• Inventory dental supplies and assist in training new Dental Assistants.
• Organize schedules and generate checklists for maintenance of dental procedures.

Requirements

• Valid WA state license for dental assisting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 2 years of working experience as a Dental Assistant or 3 years without formal training.
• Experience with dental records and familiarity with computer utilization.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.
