About The Position

The Dental Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction within the dental assistant program, fostering student academic growth, and guiding their professional development. This role involves course development, maintaining accurate student records, and creating a supportive classroom environment. The instructor will also engage in continued professional growth and contribute to the school's mission through effective teaching and student advisement.

Requirements

• Registered Dental Assistant certification (Preferred).
• Certified Dental Assistant certification (Preferred).
• Ability to commute to Clifton, NJ 07011 (Required).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for comprehensive course instruction within specified program.
• Provide active input in course development including course descriptions, syllabus creation, and textbook material review.
• Create and revise daily lesson plans.
• Attend in-service training and continuing education seminars for professional growth.
• Maintain accurate record keeping of student attendance and academic performance.
• Create a classroom environment that fosters academic growth and professional development.
• Keep the Director of Education apprised of student progress, especially concerning performance trends.
• Provide extra help to students experiencing difficulty with coursework.
• Advise students on minor problems affecting their education and refer major issues to the Program Director.
• Correct and return quizzes, tests, and lab assignments within 48 hours.
• Utilize instructional and audiovisual aids and available resources in online instruction.
• Demonstrate utilization of community resources through guest speakers, field trips, and community service events.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the Program Director.
• Submit grades within 48 hours of the end of the term.
• Enhance the curriculum by devising assignments, worksheets, tests, and activities as necessary.
