About the position

The position is for a Dental Officer in the Federal service, specifically under the Dental Officer Series 0680. To qualify, applicants must provide a resume that details sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. This includes both paid and unpaid experience, such as volunteer work through National Service programs. Responsibilities

• Evaluate, prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
• Perform dental procedures such as removal of decay, filling cavities, straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth.
• Treat gum diseases and perform corrective surgery.
• Make measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth.
• Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions.

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited institution.
• Passed the National Board of Dental Surgery (NBDE).
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
• Ability to distinguish shades of color.
