About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and surgeries.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and dental equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Take and record patient vital signs to ensure their health and safety.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Utilize dental software such as Dentrix and Epic for record management and appointment scheduling.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with both patients and staff.
  • Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental software systems (Dentrix, Epic) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures.
  • Ability to take vital signs accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Certification in Dental Assisting or relevant qualifications is desirable.
