About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient management systems, as well as the ability to assist the dentist during various treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and greeting patients.
  • Support endodontic procedures by preparing materials and assisting during treatments.
  • Operate 3D scanners for imaging when required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a general dentistry setting.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Proficient in using Dentrix or other dental management systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and medical imaging techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
