About the position
The Dental Assistant position is a part-time role focused on supporting dentists during various dental procedures and ensuring a smooth operation within the dental office. The role includes patient interaction, preparation of treatment rooms, and maintaining dental instruments, with an emphasis on excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Training will be provided, making it accessible for candidates without prior certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Perform dental charting and update patient records in the electronic medical documentation system (Eaglesoft)
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the front desk duties as needed
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials is preferred but not required
