About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled bilingual Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice in Sugar Land, TX. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This part-time position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays as needed while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide support in general dentistry procedures, including endodontics and other specialized treatments.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic, acting as a liaison between patients and the dental team.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Spanish speaking is required.
  • Familiarity with dental systems and medical documentation processes is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of general dentistry practices, endodontics, dental surgery, and four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is a plus.
