About the position
The Dental Assistant II at Comprehensive Dental Center plays a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical needs of the dental office. This position emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and patient-first service, utilizing state-of-the-art technology in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and providing education throughout treatment.
- Conduct a thorough review of the patient's health history to ensure quality care.
- Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments, including using an iTero 3D scanner and digital photography.
- Provide superior chairside assistance to dentists during various procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
- Prepare treatment rooms following strict safety protocols and adhering to OSHA & CDC recommendations.
- Manage supply and inventory levels, placing and expediting orders as needed.
- Partner with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
- Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
- Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification if required under the state dental practice act.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Nice-to-haves
- 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
- Dental assisting school certification.
