Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during examinations, cleanings, and other dental procedures.
• Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with regulations.
• Follow sterilization procedures to clean and disinfect instruments and work areas.
• Set up and prepare dental operatory with necessary instruments, materials, and equipment for specific procedures.
• Educate patients about proper oral hygiene and provide pre- and post-operative care instructions.
• Assist with various procedures, such as placing fillings and applying sealants or fluoride treatments.
• Accurately update and maintain patient charts and records.
• Monitor and manage dental supplies, ensuring the office is well-stocked.
• Help manage patient flow by ensuring appointments are on schedule.
• Assist with patient scheduling, confirming appointments, and managing patient intake forms.
• Work closely with the dental team to ensure efficient operation of the dental office.

Requirements

• State of Texas Dental Assistant license
• CPR Certification
• Radiology Certification
• Entry-level experience in a dental setting
