About the position

As a Dental Assistant at an Aspen Dental-branded practice, you will play a crucial role in supporting dental procedures and ensuring a smooth patient experience. This full-time position involves assisting doctors during various dental procedures, maintaining sterilization protocols, and educating patients on oral hygiene. Responsibilities

  • Assist doctors during a variety of dental procedures.
  • Break down operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
  • Complete sterilization processes for equipment, instruments, and operatory rooms.
  • Follow maintenance schedules for waterline flushing, suction lines, waterline testing, autoclaves, and compressors.
  • Set up trays and operatories for all procedures.
  • Support patient charting for doctors.
  • Execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow within the practice.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and Aspen safety requirements, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
  • Provide post-treatment oral care instructions to patients.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies for maintaining oral health.
  • Complete denture soft relines and manufacture temporary crowns.
  • Monitor laboratory cases.
  • Perform intraoral health scans.
  • Take quality impressions and bite registrations.
  • Perform various office tasks as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Dental Assistant license, registration, or certification as required by state.
  • DANB RHS certified and/or radiology (X-ray) certification as required by state.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Proficient in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
  • Maintain and update Continuing Education (CE) requirements as specified by state.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of dental assisting experience (Preferred)
  • X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
