About the position

Join a well-established endodontic specialty office as a Dental Assistant. This part-time position offers an opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment, assisting dentists during various endodontic procedures while ensuring patient comfort and care. The role includes both clinical and administrative tasks, with a focus on patient interaction and maintaining high standards of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of endodontic treatment procedures.
  • Escorting patients from the reception area to their treatment room and back after treatment.
  • Ensuring all necessary informed consent forms and treatment plans are signed by the patient.
  • Taking diagnostically acceptable radiographs and intraoral pictures for patients and uploading them to the patient account.
  • Reviewing and updating patient medical history and taking vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse oximetry.
  • Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment, ensuring all equipment is maintained per manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as chair-side appointment scheduling and document management.
  • Documenting thorough and accurate treatment notes for procedures at the end of each appointment.
  • Effectively communicating with patients, suppliers, team members, labs, and referring doctors.
  • Ensuring patient information confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performing post-operative calls to patients after treatment.
  • Participating in practice marketing and patient engagement activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Dental assisting experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology.
  • First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Registered Dental Assistant certification is a plus.
  • Human resources knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience in a dental office is preferred but not necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two or more years' experience at a dental office in a similar position preferred.
