About the position
The Dental Assistant at Renu Family Dentistry will support the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role involves both clinical and administrative tasks, including patient interaction, record management, and education on oral hygiene practices. The position is available for both part-time and full-time candidates, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records and ensure all medical records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Take and record vital signs as needed, ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Utilize software for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records as a dental receptionist when necessary.
Requirements
- CPR Certification
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Proficiency in making temporary crowns is required.
- Proficiency in assisting with various dental procedures and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment following aseptic protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric dentistry settings.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with iTero scanner, dental implants, Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry is preferred.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in a dental assistant role is an advantage but not required; we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
