About the position

The Dental Assistant at Todays Dental Covington LLC plays a crucial role in supporting the dentist during various dental procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position involves preparing treatment areas, assisting with patient care, and maintaining dental equipment, all while adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas by stocking, setting up, breaking down, and cleaning/sterilizing as needed.
• Verify lab cases are checked in and checked out for patients on the schedule.
• Seat patients and complete scheduled treatments, providing pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
• Update the Practice Management Software with new findings and recommended treatments.
• Take necessary X-rays as prescribed by the doctor following the Radiographic Imaging Policy.
• Assist the doctor at chairside with four-handed dentistry and maintain patient flow between operatories.
• Maintain general dental office equipment, including suction systems and sterilization equipment.
• Provide support to office personnel by confirming appointments and filling schedules for providers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in small group situations.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and order processing systems.
• Certified Dental Assistant preferred, with Radiology Certification and CPR Certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with digital X-ray and various dental instruments.
