About the position

The Dental Front Office Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the dental practice. This position focuses on providing exceptional customer service, managing patient relations, and supporting the dental team in delivering high-quality care. The coordinator will be responsible for welcoming patients, verifying insurance benefits, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a professional office environment. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient-centered care in a supportive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, and staff members.
  • Welcome patients and visitors with a kind greeting.
  • Check-in patients according to office protocol, verifying and updating patient information.
  • Answer incoming calls with outstanding customer service.
  • Verify insurance benefits for patients.
  • Manage patient relations and resolve patient problems.
  • Assist patients in understanding office policies.
  • Confirm appointments for the next day based on protocol and patient preferences.
  • Schedule patients in advance to optimize doctor and staff time.
  • Check the patient quick-fill list for cancellations or no-show appointments.
  • Charge patients at the time of treatment and make necessary follow-up appointments.
  • Prepare financial treatment plans and present options to patients.
  • Assist in the treatment room as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • One or more years of dental office experience required.
  • Experience with dental implants is required.
  • Back office experience is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and nonverbal communication abilities with patients and team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain rapport with patients and staff.
  • Reliability and flexibility when needed.
  • Experience with customer service or patient relations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a multi-generational patient care environment.
  • Knowledge of dental office protocols and procedures.
